Attributed to Tennessee, circa 1800, yellow pine and poplar secondary, dovetailed case, hinged lipped slant lid featuring a light wood line and berry inlay, inlaid escutcheon, bread board ends, detailed interior featuring a hinged prospect door above a small drawer, interior with two pigeon holes above a shaped small drawer, flanked by two reeded vertical document drawers flanked by four shaped pigeon holes above four small drawers, the outer two shaped, four graduated lipped drawers, shaped bracket feet.

41.5 x 41 x 20.5 in.; Case width 39 in.

Front to back drawer construction featuring bottom board front to back grain use; one small interior drawer signed in pencil cursive "Robert Grier".

Feet are formed from the solid; however, the bracket foot applique appears later; lip cut and repair to lid; hinge joint cut and repair to lid; some drawer runners and drawer guides rebuilt; later pulls but in original holes; top and fall board with marring and surface inconsistency; as found estate condition; without key.
