A full length portrait of a charmingly plump toddler grasping his toes with one hand and the ears of his trusty terrier in the other. He sits on red pillow with red drapery beyond, opened to reveal a white column and romantic landscape beyond. A single red shoe is visible to the viewer below the pillow, possibly alluding to the fact that this is a posthumous portrait.
