Ernest Stephen Lumsden was born in London, but most closely associated with Scotland. He was member of the Royal Society of Painters-Etchers and the Royal Scottish Academy. A talented painter and etcher, his works are found in such prominent collections as the National Galleries of Scotland, the British Museum, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
