with the original 3.0 liter engine and 5 speed manual transmission. Over 12 years of ownership the car has received several refurbishments, including an engine and transmission rebuild with engine displacement increased to 3.2 liters with new cylinders and pistons and a slightly more aggressive cam. A Magnaflow exhaust system was installed, and the fuel tank has been removed for external re-coating.

Originally the exterior was Venetian Blue, with Black interior. In 2018 the paint was stripped, windows removed and areas treated, sunroof eliminated, and finally repainted in Gulf Blue. New glass seals were installed, and the huge rear bumper impact blocks replaced with bumperettes found on earlier 911s, and a whale tail from a turbo car was installed. The Interior with front seats recovered with blue leather and white piping. The back seat (and rest of the interior) still has the original black, but new carpet on the fold-down position. New soundproofing and carpet was installed last year. A new leather covered fiberglass dash was installed when the car was painted. Improvements include rebuilt (by Hollywood Gauges) "blue face" gauges that turn white at night. The headliner was replaced to a lighter gray color when the sunroof was changed to a solid metal panel. All of the Gulf livery items are vinyl decals and can be easily removed.
