Oil on canvas, first half 19th century, unsigned, the uniformed subject wears the Grand Cross of the Order of St. Louis; a crowned heraldic shield in the upper right field depicts a rampant lion against a pillar emblazoned with three fleur de lils, below which is streamer dated "10 Aout 1793," which was the one year anniversary of the Insurrection of August 10, 1792 and the day on which the Louvre Museum in Paris was first opened. Presented in a gilt and gesso frame.
