Attributed to Eastern Virginia or Eastern North Carolina, late 18th century, yellow pine and oak secondary, two part form, applied cove molded cornice with dentil molding, two upper hinged blind panel doors with astragal moldings, shelved interior above eight pigeon holes with shaped dividers above four small drawers, two pull-out side-by-side candle shelves, the top of base with matched fluted quarter columns, the base with a dovetailed case featuring a lipped slant lid with bread board ends with loper support, the interior with central scalloped paneled prospect door, two hidden drawers, flanked by two fluted document drawers flanked by a total of eight pigeon holes with shaped valances and six small drawers, the case with one long drawer above two side-by-side drawers above two long drawers, all drawers lipped and graduated, applied molded base, raised on turned cherry feet.

Replaced hinges and pulls with escutcheon shadow marks; replaced pulls; drawer runners rebuilt; two drawer locks missing; all four turned feet are cherry and appear original.
