Attributed to Connecticut, early 19th century, chestnut and white pine secondary, raised solid top with applied molded surround, hinged lipped lid, double loper support, interior with eight small drawers above nine pigeon holes, the case with four graduated drawers with scratch bead, the lid and drawers all with horizontal diamond central inlay and triple line inlay surround, scalloped skirt with vertical veneered cherry, original French bracket feet.

The left and right lower one inch horizontal side panel boards stretching from the front-rear foot appear later; feet appear original; veneer chips and losses especially at skirt; shrinkage splits to left/right side cases with later fill; wood loss at lip by lid lock; ink staining to interior writing surface; later hinges; some drawer runners rebuilt; later pulls.
