A Carved Hardstone Sculpture with Sea Creatures

20th century, the obverse decorated with a carved octopus and small clam shell towards the top the area all around carved in an energetic ripple pattern mimicking the rolling waves and highlighting the marbling in the stone, at the base is a hermit crab on the sea floor, comes together with a fitted wooden base.

Wood base with crack and wear to finish; some surface scratches and natural hairlines to the stone.
