Each in walnut, the first with later maroon plush upholstery, folding mechanism, and stamped to the inside left leg with an 1873 patent (30 x 27.5 x 25 in., seat height 18.5 in.); the second with an oval upholstered back, seat and arms, folding mechanism, shaped and incised crest rail with figured walnut veneer, stamped to the back lower rail with a patent date of 1866 (37 x 24 x 21 in., seat height 15 in.); the third with a pierced handle crest rail, later cream upholstery to back, seat and arms, fluted stiles, legs and stretchers, marked on the rear left leg with a patent date of 1869 (32.5 x 22 x 19 in., seat height 16 in.).

All with later upholstery; several joint repairs; the red chair has a chip and loss to the right arm disc joint to folding mechanism; some later bolts; the folding chairs with some joint looseness.
