19th century, the first an English inlaid box, cubic form, satinwood veneers with light and dark wood inlaid borders and intricate geometric star marquetry designs, opens to a papered interior, appears unmarked (5 x 4 3/4 x 4 in.) (some small areas of veneer loss and scratches, no key); the second an English carved horn box, oval form in dark umber, hinged lid with inlaid silver cartouche monogrammed P.H. (1 1/4 x 4 1/8 x 1 3/4 in.) (some light scratches, overall good condition); the daguerrotype case by Littlefield, Parsons & Co., 1857, carved ebonized wood case and brass matting inserts, labeled to interior (3 x 2 1/2 x 1 in.) (one brass insert loose, some wear to edges)
