Alex Wilhite is a painter who is especially interested in color theory and creating depth, movement, and dimension on his canvasses. Wilhite was born deaf, and he attended the Central Institute for the Deaf in St. Louis and the National Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, New York. He also received his BFA from the University of North Alabama and an MFA from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. Wilhite currently maintains a winter studio in Houston, TX where he hand-mixes the paint for his bright and colorful works.
