Virginian by birth, Dorothy Archer was a nationally recognized artist and teacher in the American southwest. In 1967, she was the first American woman to have a solo exhibition in Chihuahua, Mexico. She taught acrylic classes at the El Paso Museum of Art for years and was a highly respected mentor for her students.
