Late 18th century, oak secondary, relief carved shell to the central crest rail, acanthus carved ears and upper stile with graduated bellflower, pierced stylized back-splat with central rivet, molded shoe, flush seat rail, upholstered slip seat, molded straight front legs, stretcher base, down-swept rear legs with inside chamfer.

One chair is wider and converted from an armchair to a side-chair with plugs (38 x 23 x 20 in.); later corner brace blocks; four chairs with break and repair at crest rail by stile joints; four chairs with tight shrinkage crack at front knee; good usable estate condition.
