Circa 1835, sarcophagus form, coromandel veneer with dark wood border inlays, matching brass inlays to escutcheon and lid, the sides with foliate and drapery brass ring handle mounts, opens to a red leather and rose upholstered interior with light wood border panels, twin lidded and lined tea compartments flank a central well with removable cut crystal cup; supported by foliate decorated brass ball feet.

8 1/2 x 13 1/4 x 6 3/4 in.

Some scratches and areas of loss to veneer; no key; soiling to upholstery and some signs of use to interior tea compartments; lining with stains from use but mostly intact; possibly later cup and lock mechanism.
