19th century, appears unsigned, handcarved pine, depicting a model after the original rock relief Lion Monument located in Lucerne designed by Bertel Thorvaldsen and sculpted by in 1820-1821 by Lukas Ahorn, commemorating the 1792 massacre of the Swiss Guards during the French Revolution. Latin "Vetiorum Fidei Ac Virtuti" ("To the loyalty and bravery of the Swiss") carved inscription to anterior base.
