Christine Rooney grew up on a small farm near Springfield, Ohio. It was here that her love for broad bands of color, horizon lines, and quiet landscapes began. After working as a landscape artist for an architectural design firm in California, she and her husband moved east. She continued her studies at West Chester State University in Pennsylvania and later at Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, Virginia. She maintains a studio in Lynchburg and teaches many art classes and workshops while actively working in a variety of mediums. She has won numerous awards nationally and internationally for her work.
