Dated 1578, but issued from that date into the early 17th century, being a copperplate engraving with hand color; the sheet consists of two scenes, the first depicting St. Marks Square and the second records a fire that consumed the Doge's palace in 1577; the verso with descriptive text in Latin related to the engravings. Presented behind a mat in a plain wooden frame, circa 1930.

Sheet size 16-1/4 x 21-1/8 in.; Frame dimensions 20-1/8 x 25-1/8 in.

Full margins; age toning with moderate foxing; retains good color; the frame with some scuffs and wear.
