Ink and watercolor on paper, appear unsigned, to include a street scene with cathedral and a view of a man fishing beneath a bridge, each with outside information affixed to verso, matted and framed.

Samuel Prout was a British watercolorist known for European townscapes and landscapes. He travelled extensively throughout Europe throughout the 1820s in Prague, France, Germany, and other countries. Prout was appointed Painter in Water-Colors[sic] in Ordinary to King George IV and later Queen Victoria. He also had a number of significant students and followers who were inspired by his work, including John Ruskin and David Roberts.
