Cabochon emeralds display a very slightly blueish green hue, medium tone, and moderately strong saturation. Rubies display a slightly to strongly purplish red hue, medium dark to dark tone, and very slightly brownish to moderately strong saturation. Sapphires display a violetish blue to blue hue, medium dark to dark tone, and very slightly grayish to moderately strong saturation.

Multiple cabochon stones have surface reaching feathers, cracks, and abrasions visible under magnification; multiple melee stones have minute to moderate chips and abrasions visible under magnification.
