Mid 18th century, shaped crest rail with notched corners, oval banded inlay to center of crest rail, shaped vasiform back splat featuring burl veneers and scrolled side terminus, stepped molded shoe, shaped stiles, balloon upholstered slip seat, molded seat rail, cabriole legs with relief carved shell and bellflower at knee, acanthus carved raised pad foot, down-swept rear legs with pad foot.

Later upholstery; insect damage throughout; light buckling and veneer separation to burl veneers at back splat; some finish discoloration; some tight shrinkage cracks at front seat rail; some chairs with minor loss at rear pad feet; overall good usable condition.
