Safer was an American sculptor whose works are in museums and private collections throughout the world. Shafer's monumental sculpture, Quest, is the crowning jewel of MGM National Harbor in Maryland.

James Watson Twitty studied painting and drawing at the University of Miami and the Art Students League of New York. He shared his talent and experience to his students at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C., as well as posts at George Washington University, Leeds College of Fine Arts in England, and at art centers in Texas and Florida.

His paintings are in the permanent collections of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., the Brooklyn Museum in New York, Baltimore Museum of Art, Dallas Museum of Fine Arts, the High Museum in Atlanta, the Museum of Fine Arts - Houston, the San Francisco Museum of Art and others.

Good estate condition.
