Jane McCord received a degree in landscape architecture from the University of Georgia in 1936 and a master of fine arts degree from the university in 1971. Her paintings won prizes at a number of shows including the Hunter Museum in Chattanooga in 1972. McCord’s works have been exhibited far and wide, including showings at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta and the American Painters in Paris in 1976. In addition to her painting, McCord was instrumental in the planning and installation of many public gardens throughout her native Rome, Georgia and beyond.
