Conte crayon on board, "B" monogram to lower right, semi circular design border depicting a Chinese junk boat navigating high seas, flanked by arched side illustrations of Chinese dragons in mirrored serpentine poses, presented behind glass in a molded wood frame.

Maurice Lincoln Bower worked as a figurative illustration artist for various prestigious publications including the Saturday Evening Post. Bower studied art at Penn State, and later at the School of Industrial Art in Philadelphia, learning from Howard Pyle's student Walter Everett. In 1932, Maurice exhibited at the Pennsylvannia Academy of Fine Arts.
His work is in the collection of the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, MD.
