Harvey Joiner was born in Charlestown, Indiana, just northeast of Louisville, Kentucky. He began his career as a portrait painter. However, he garnered great acclaim during his lifetime for his luminous landscapes. Often of a diminutive size, his serene and dreamlike depictions of the Kentucky beech forests were sought after by collectors across the country. His paintings are in numerous public and private collections, including the Speed Art Museum in Louisville, Kentucky; the Indiana State Museum in Indianapolis; Morris Museum of Art in Augusta, Georgia; and The Johnson Collection in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Very good estate condition; not examined out of the frame.
