Early 19th century, white pine and poplar case, rectangular lid with applied molding, open interior with till to the left side, straight feet with shaped cut-out sides, all over original faux mahogany paint decoration.

By Descent of the Boardman, Devitt and Dawkins families, New England and California. Top loose and with breaks and loss to rear edge of lid by hinge joint; circular staining to top; paint chipping and wear to case edges.
