Mid 19th century, teak, one piece form, all over mother of pearl inlay in geometric floral, urn and swag motif, rectangular dovetailed case with hinged lid with three butt hinges and battens, interior with till to the left and right sides each featuring a small drawer and shaped apron, original lock and clasp, paneled front and sides, scalloped skirt raised on tall feet from the stile.

Separation shrinkage crack to right front corner of lid; mother of pearl losses throughout especially to left front edge of the lid; later brass museum plaque at front by escutcheon; two wood chips and loss by right front lower leg; some finish inconsistency.
