A note stating the translation reads: Top of Headboard "God let you sleep quietly", Footboard "And also my loved ones should have an undisturbed night without bad luck or danger. God let you sleep in peace. He puts angels as guards around your house and farm and around you. Left rail "To have found a bone with God, have a warm bed and faithful wife and to have bread, meat, beer and wine. He who has all of this can live a happy life"

Paint loss and surface wear throughout; the footboard with likely later shaped crest panel; shrinkage crack to headboard at lower panel.
