Fabio Rieti was born in Rome, Italy. He traveled frequently between Rome and Paris before the outbreak of World War II, at which time he escaped to New York.

Rieti returned to Paris following the war. He is best known for his urban art and murals found throughout the city. His most well-known works included the windows of Beauborg (1976) and the pedestrian of Les Halles (1979).
