Watercolor on ivory, late 19th century, both appear unsigned and presented in ornate recessed gilt frames, the first depicting a youthful maiden in Neoclassical style dress on a blue ground, inscription to back identifying subject as Empress Josephine; the second of a woman with meek expression in black dress, gray scarf, and white lace bonnet on a gray ground.
