The first is circa 1880, impressed "WHITES.UTICA.NY / 2" above a slip trailed fern frond design, high collar, inner rim, tooled throat, applied lug handles (11 1/2 x 8 in.) (good condition) ; the second a large six gallon crock stamped "E.A. MONTELL / OLEAN, NY", circa 1870, with triple tulip decoration, having high lug handles over a double incised band (12 5/8 x 12 in.) (minor inner rim nicks; small handle chip; extensive surface exfoliation).
