Miss Lula Ross was born in Alabama, served as a Methodish missionary in Brazil in the 1880s and later was an art instructor at Shorter College in Rome, Georgia.

This is a copy of Batoni's painting, St. Mary Magdalene, which was destroyed during WWII during the bombing of Dresden.

Some surface grime; area of paint loss above cave opening; light abrasions; rubbing to frame.
