The smaller bag with a keyhole escutcheon stamped J. TERRY & CO. and an old typed note stating it was owned by Olivet Kirk, whose name appears in Vermont and Pennsylvania during the 1860s (10 x 17 x 4-1/2 in.) (lacking handle, wear to bag); the second bag has an open top a swing handle (17 x 16 x 4 in.) (2 in. split and expected wear).
