Betty Foy Sanders is a native of Bulloch County, Georgia and an accomplished artist and a long-time supporter of the fine arts programs throughout the state. In 1947 she graduated of the School of Art at the University of Georgia where she studied under Professor, Lamar Dodd. She was the 74th first lady of Georgia, serving from 1963 to 1967, where she was involved with the designing of the Governor's mansion. And she is the namesake for the Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art at Georgia Southern University.
