To include: Autograph Letter Signed John Keiger, 2 pages, small 8vo, North Carolina, February 28, 1863, to his son Edwin Keiger in Proctor's Creek, Virginia, with pre-paid cover, reading, in part: "...you don't know how glad I would Be if I could See you com thare is grate (d)eal of talk of peace But I dont See why they ar taken off more men if thare is a prospect for pece...you must excuse my Bad riting and Speling..."...plus; Confederate Government imprint, 8vo, bearing post-war "Rebel Archives" stamp, being a North Carolina resolution, January 21, 1865, to have the Confederate Congress authorize pay for disabled soldiers...; plus a postwar cabinet card photograph showing a profile portrait of General Lee in uniform, no backmark.
