Serial number 32073 on tang behind breech, .52 caliber breech-loader with a 22 in. barrel with SHARPS RIFLE / MANUFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CONN. on the top, the mount for the rear sight is marked R. S. LAWRENCE / PATENTED / FEB. 15th 1859, the right side of the receiver is stamped R. S. LAWRENCE PAT. / APRIL18th 1859 and SHARP'S PATENT / OCT. 5TH 1852., the left side of the receiver with C. SHARP'S PAT. / SEPT. 12th 1848; walnut stock with brass patch box and butt plate, the trigger guard also serves as a lever for the breech block; fitted with a saddle ring.

Signs of extensive use; light rusting throughout to ferrous metal; dings to stock; needs some mechanical work as hammer does not go all the way down to the percussion nipple; overall good condition.
