First half of the 19th century, reeded concave upper crestrail, downswept reeded arms and C-scrolled reeded arm supports, caned seat with later slip cushion, reeded front sabre legs, the chair hinges at seat rail and fold forward to create four tiered library steps, each step with later inset red leather panel.
