Possibly eastern Virginia or eastern North Carolina, late 18th century, walnut with birch side panels, possibly Atlantic cedar secondary, dovetailed case, hinged slant lid with molded edge and breadboard ends, loper support, interior with pigeon holes and five small side-by-dide drawers, case with four graduated drawers with molded edge, tall, shaped bracket foot base.
41.25 x 37 x 20 in. Case width 35.5 in.
Lid reset with later hinges; separation crack between two original boards; valances possibly later and some loose; dark staining to writing surface; some drawer runners rebuilt; later drawer guides; feet facings original break and repair to front left foot; later pulls.
