18th-19th century, from the Collection of Dr. Pressley Robinson Rankin, Jr. (1920 - 2010), Ellerbe, NC, to include pottery shards, brass "C" bracelets, buttons, trade kettle ears and glass. For accuracy, one shard reading "Imperial China" dates to the late 19th-early 20th century. The collection is presented in a glass-topped wooden display case.

Dr. Rankin, an esteemed physician, was also a dedicated outdoorsman who collected artifacts associated with the pre-history and settlement of his native region. He founded the still-operating Rankin Museum of American Heritage in Ellerbe to house much of his collection. The rest of the Rankin material was sold as a single-owner public auction in 2011. This frame of artifacts was Lot 2031 in that sale.

Excavated condition.
