Circa 1850, walnut, Caswell County, North Carolina, arched crest rail with pierced opening, four turned spindle back, scrolled arms with single spindle support, later slip seat, saber front legs, down-swept rear legs.

These three chairs were given to Dr. Lindley Butler by Lucille Fagg, granddaughter of Governor David Settle Reid, in thanks for assisting in the move of Thomas Day furniture from the Governor Reid House in Reidsville, North Carolina to Raleigh, North Carolina.
