Circa 1900, the first in black lacquered wood with shaped rim edge, painted and gilt scrolling foliate and tracery details, center with two cut covered glass inkwells and covered rectangular nib box, between two recessed oval pen trays (8 1/2 x 11 x 5 in. assembled); the second in silverplate, oval tray form marked EPNS to underside, cut glass inkwell to center, includes brass handled sword form letter opener (11 x 5 1/4 x 2 1/2 in.).

Some scattered scratches and dents to silverplate, with areas of bleed; chips to covered glass inkwells; some areas of crackle to lacquer, with rubbing to gilt and painted designs.
