Better known as a potter, Shawn Ireland began painting with oils as a Resident Artist at Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina in 1996. He was further inspired to paint more after studying in Cortona, Italy with the University of Georgia between 2006 and 2013. Ireland has just recently moved his studios from Penland, North Carolina to Athens, Georgia.
