Oil on canvas, signed "F. Everett" at lower right, presented in a later frame.

Frame dimensions 24 x 28 in.

A hand-written note to the verso reads:
Red shawl, black lace fan and white lace handkerchief were brought from Europe by Washington LaFayette Riddick (1825-1871) as gifts to his wife, Frances Marion Blount, during the time of his service in the U.S. Navy c. 1850.
Cloisonné vase belonged to Willie Jordan Pinner (1866-1934), wife of John Beauregard Pinner.
New Testament carried by Christopher Melville Etheredge (1844-1916) into Battle of New Market during the War Between the States in which he fought while he was a cadet at Virginia Military Institute.
