This charming little painting may possibly depict Little Red Riding Hood on her way to grandmother's house. This fairy tale, although long shared through oral tradition, was first published as part of a collection of European fairy tales collected by Charles Perrault. By the early 19th century, this cautionary tale was a nursery room favorite and included in numerous storybooks, prints and paintings.

Some scattered stress crackle; wear to frame edges.
