Indo-Persian Kulah-Khud Helmet, Shield, and Bazu-Band

18th-19th century, the spiked iron helmet is fitted with a nose guard, two plume mounts and a neck shield of fine chain mail; the dome with gilt floral and avian motifs above a register of Arabic text, presented on a wooden stand (helmet with mail hanging, 25 in.; 41-1/2 in. on stand); the convex shield of similar construction and design, its face with four bosses, the interior with quilted fabric (17 in. diameter); the bazu-band arm protection conforms with the previous elements (15-1/2 in. long).

All surfaces with light oxidation; gilt intact; 1 in. area of loss to chain mail neck guard; mail on underside of bazu-band detached with a strip of cloth; overall good condition.
