Mid-19th century, .50 caliber smoothbore, 41 in. octagonal barrel with fixed brass sights; factory lockplate with obscured WARRANTED stamp under the hammer and two waterfowl in flight behind the hammer; the maple stock fitted with brass mounts and a conforming patchbox; a decorative brass crescent moon with human features is inlaid on the butt stock; wooden ramrod is present. Comes with rifle sock.

Lacking one of six brass inlays under the barrel; light oxidation to ferrous elements; powder pitting at breech; bore needs thorough cleaning; mellow old patinas to wood and brass; working action, but somewhat loose hammer. Overall very good condition.
