The first worked in multi-color silk threads on linen, with alphabet rows above verse, "Continue heaven a grat / full heart to bless with / faith in friendship and / in love success A Davis / Ended this Sampler Septe / mber the 30 1734," bottom panel with pine trees and animals, presented under glass in a birdseye maple frame (frame size 12 x 10 in.) (with stitch loss and hole at bottom); the second worked in multi-color silk threads on linen ground, with alphanumeric rows above a line of strawberries, and with crowns, bird, and trees, maker's name and date to bottom, Elizabeth Crofts. 1798, presented under glass in a birdseye maple frame (frame size 8 5/8 x 8.75 in.) (with scattered holes; Greek key border to bottom unfinished).
