Circa 1770, yellow pine secondary, shaped crest with asymmetrical relief carved shell, carved and scrolled ears, shaped vasiform back-splat set within a molded shoe, upholstered slip seat, molded seat rail, flush seat rails with through mortise tenon on rear stiles, cabriole front legs with volute at knee, ball and claw front feet with rear talon, down-swept rear legs.

All four scrolled ears with chips and losses; later upholstery with sun fading; varnish and finish loss to both chairs; one chair's front left leg with break and repair below knee.
