Probably English, circa 1780s, pine secondary (under shoe to seat rail), shaped crest rail with relief carving, pierced Gothic influenced back-splat with lower quatrefoil, molded shaped stiles, molded shoe, slip seat, molded seat rail, molded straight legs, stretcher base, down-swept rear legs.

37.5 x 21 x 19.5 in., seat height 17 in.

From the Collection of the late Dr. & Mrs. Henry C. and Barbara Landon III, Wilmington, North Carolina

All retain a nice mellow patina and surface.

Fair condition; breaks and repairs throughout, including (but not limited to): one chair right rear leg with break/repair, front left leg replaced, cut/patch/repair to front right leg; one chair with cut/tip; one chair with break/repair at crest rail to stiles now with later iron braces; all chairs with later seats and peg feet; one chair with crack/chip/loss to front left leg corner.
