Watercolor and graphite on paper, one a seascape signed "Maggioni" at lower left, the second a coastal scene with palm trees (unsigned), and the third a landscape with live oaks (unsigned), each presented under glass in identical frames.

Frame dimensions 20 1/4 x 25 1/2 in. (each)

Gilbert Maggioni was the son of an Italian immigrant. In 1870, his father, Luigi Paoli Maggioni, opened an oyster factory on Daufuskie Island, South Carolina in 1883. Maggioni would work for his father, but was an artist as well. In addition to painting, he was a well known decoy carver.
