Boston, circa 1860, leather veneer with brass boss tack border decoration, the front with brass plaque monogramed "Chas. Heath," made by Boston trunk maker John B. Baker, retains original label to interior of the hinged lid, reading: "SADDLERY AND MILITARY CAP ESTABLISHMENT. / JOHN B. BAKER, /Sadles, Bridles, Harnesses ,Whips, Trav. Trunks...Cartridge Boxes, Belts, &c. &c. / No. 12 Court Street Boston." Original papered interior and original lock marked with oval figural relief mount reading "Approved Trunk Lock / T. Williams."
